Last weekend was my final music festival of the year. As I have previously mentioned I much prefer music festivals to holidays sitting by a pool. This year I didn’t take as many photos in an effort to enjoy what was in front of my face, instead of what would look pretty on a screen, but there are some highlights below:

For some semblance of creature comforts we hire a motor home rather than camp in a tent, and for quirkiness and excellent customer service we go with Hire a Hymer. This year we’ve hired Moe and Gunther, but I think Lisa may have been the best (for us) so far (although I’m not the one driving them, 1970’s gearboxes not being amongst my favourite things).
Musical highlights included EB the Younger (new to me but formerly of Midlake) Jade Bird, Stella Donnelly and, of course, Courtney Barnett who totally ROCKED. Honourable mention to Martha for being wildly young and exuberant and to Bodega who deserve bigging up for their drummer alone!
There is art (and weirdness) in the woods and fabulous food all around (particularly the cauliflower balls which are…amazballs).

This is a truly lovely festival with a wonderful atmosphere and delights to be discovered everywhere…not just in the music.
