I’ll start with the proviso that I do not believe that self respect is the same as self esteem or narcissism. Self respect comes from the belief in your own worth, based on honour, courage, honesty and all the good qualities you want from not just yourself but the people you surround yourself with. Self esteem is knowing that you’re special and deserving of all good things, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but would you really want to be surrounded by people who all believe they’re special and deserving? Narcissism is self admiration without any good reason and is what a lot of loud and obnoxious people, currently in positions of power unfortunately, appear to be exhibiting.

Anybody’s s’posed to respect you (Fear and loathing are not the same as respect, but they seems to be acceptable substitutes for some)

And let the gentleman do his thing (or, if you decide to claim piety solely to appeal to Christian voters, you probably shouldn’t have a history of sexual assaults, racism, bigotry, and 3 ex-wives)

This was a meaningless exercise to amuse myself. I am trying to do more of them instead of idly wishing for a new superbug to come and finish us all off whenever I mistakenly listen to the news.
