(This was going to be entitled ‘Me too!’ But that has a different meaning nowadays…)
Not wanting to be left out of the vaccination update posts…I got my first dose about an hour ago. We went with AstroZeneca, for that space-sounding vibe (and also because we didn’t have a choice) and I didn’t actually feel it. I’m not sure if that was because of the tiny needle, the very good nurse or my naturally stoic and heroic reaction to pain (yeah, right…) I have also been told that my injection site wound is ‘pathetic’ but that was by the person I will be ordering around all afternoon (due to my new invalid status).
It was an utterly painless experience all round in fact. The volunteers were helpful and efficient and the nurses were reassuring and friendly. The whole thing took about 10 minutes from start to finish and because I wasn’t driving myself home I didn’t have to wait the 15 minutes reaction time. Highly recommended…5 Stars.

I made a point of thanking every volunteer I spoke to, and the two nurses in my little cubicle, and all of them seemed surprised. I’m not judging anyone else who was being vaccinated today, maybe they were nervous or distracted or just having a weird day, but their surprise made me glad I had made the effort.
I did not feel my shot either, and though the site became a little sore later, that went away in a day. Less of a deal than my annual flu shot.(And I thanked everyone too, except for the person behind me who kept creeping too close in line.)
Woohoo! Congrats!
Cheers m’dear 🙂
